Family Benefits
An A-ROSA cruise to the European metropolises is the perfect holiday for the whole family. From toddlers to grandparents, everyone on board the A-ROSA fleet will find their very own favourite place and, thanks to the kids’ buffet, their favourite dishes too. Since 2014, the popular A-ROSA Kids Club has been organised on at least one ship on each river during the holidays. While the children enjoy the diverse creative and adventure programme up to three times a day, parents, grandparents and guardians have plenty of time to relax on the sun deck or enjoy soothing treatments in the SPA-ROSA – a holiday where everyone feels at home. And the best thing is: When accompanied by an adult, children up to and including the age of 15 travel free of charge in the family cabins on deck 1* in the Premium All-Inclusive fare. This fare includes drinks on board such as juices and soft drinks for younger guests. To cool off during the summer holidays, every A-ROSA ship has a pool on the sun deck, which is heated in cooler seasons. The popular family cruises are rounded off by various excursions specially designed for kids, such as visits to the zoo or an amusement park.

Family Cabins
On board the A-ROSA ships, there are cabins on deck 1 that are designed for up to three guests and hence very suitable for families. On top, A-ROSA FLORA, which was christened in 2014 and is currently cruising on the Danube, offers two family cabins, which are 18.5m² in size and can accommodate up to four people. Depending on the ship, these cabins have a French double bed or two separate beds as well as a sofa bed or a Pullman bed. All cabins are equipped with a large wardrobe, desk with mirror, chairs, air conditioning, safe, phone and hairdryer. A television is installed in the cabins for guests’ entertainment. They are also equipped with a shower and toilet as well as towels for the bathroom and for the sauna in the SPA-ROSA.
Kids Club
The popular A-ROSA Kids Club always runs on at least one ship on each river during the school holidays. Up to three times a day, all little adventurers aged 4 to 15 can look forward to an exciting creative programme. During the entertainment programme, the whole ship is explored and various activities such as pizza baking with the chef or mixing non-alcoholic cocktails with the bartenders in the lounge captivate the little guests. Creative handicraft and colouring activities and a treasure hunt are also a must. And of course, they can also watch a film or two during movie evening. The Kids Club on board the A-ROSA ships (with exception of A-ROSA SENA) is organised in cooperation with the renowned caretakers of COLORI Events from Offenbach am Main. The friendly entertainers are looking forward to welcoming little guests on board.

Family Excursions
The cruises are topped off with an extensive excursion programme. In six different categories, guests can experience the destination with all their senses, go on an adventure tour, ride an e-bike and savour fresh local delicacies directly in the region. There are also special tours aimed primarily at younger guests. With the family excursions, everyone gets their money’s worth and explores the respective towns and sights in a playful way or experiences an exciting day at the theme park.
On the Danube, for example, the children dive into Vienna’s almost 2,000-year history as little detectives and learn why spy windows were actually a thing back then. In Mainz, young guests can follow the creation of a book in an interactive way at the Gutenberg Museum. While travelling on the Seine, the long stay in Paris is perfect for a visit to the famous Disneyland and on the Rhône, adventure-seekers will love the “Parc Spirou” theme park in the South of France.
A-ROSA SENA
Family Area With Kids Club and Family Cabins
With A-ROSA SENA, which was put into service on the Northern Rhine in summer 2022, the concept of A-ROSA’s multi-generation cruises was refined and a special Family Area was created on deck 1. This is where the big, dedicated Kids Club room is located, which is the first of its kind on a river cruise ship. In the Kids Club, younger guests can look forward to many great adventures, play and romp to their heart’s content and experience the most beautiful cities in Europe together with new friends. The space is divided into different areas for playing, crafting, relaxing and experiencing. Unlike the other ships in the fleet, the entertainment programme on board is offered all year round and has its own fixed Kids’ Crew.
Directly adjacent to the Kids Club on deck 1 are twelve spacious 28m² family cabins that can accommodate up to two adults and three children. In addition to a large double bed, there is a bunk bed specially designed for children with portholes and a curtain. There is also a separate seating area with an additional sofa bed and a play area. The bathroom with shower and two washbasins is separate from the WC.
Swimming Lessons on Board A-ROSA
Summer, holidays – and making the most of the time on board: Swimming courses for all children aged 4 and older were offered on A-ROSA SENA for the first time in summer 2023. In cooperation with the Wasserlust swimming school, all little adventurers were able to learn the basics of swimming. This made A-ROSA the first river cruise line ever to offer a professional swimming school onboard.
After a successful introductory season, the swimming school is now a permanent feature of the A-ROSA SENA family programme. The beginners’ course is designed for children who have never taken swimming lessons before and teaches first techniques for moving fearlessly in the water. The intermediate course requires some previous experience and aims to improve swimming skills and stamina. Children who already have their first officially recognised swimming qualification can join an advanced course where they can improve their swimming technique and stamina and learn about common water safety guidelines. All courses take place in the large pool on the sun deck. There is also a shallow pool for smaller children right next to this pool.
