Rostock, 16 June 2026 – The A-ROSA Reederei GmbH, a subsidiary of the A-ROSA Group, has appointed Renata Hug-Suter as new Managing Director. She assumed her position on 15 June 2026. As part of the leadership transition, previous Managing Director Markus Zoepke will continue to support A-ROSA and its shareholders in an advisory capacity, ensuring continuity and a smooth transfer of knowledge and responsibilities.

Renata Hug-Suter has over 15 years of experience in the cruise and hospitality industry. Most recently, she acted as Managing Director and CHRO of the Rivertech Group. Prior to that, she held various senior positions within the sea chefs Group, ultimately as Head of HR with executive responsibility. Her expertise lies most notably in the areas of finance, controlling and human resources management.

In her new role, she will take charge of the operational management of the A-ROSA site in Chur (Switzerland) alongside CEO Rolf-Dieter Maltzahn and CFO Andrej Vizjak. Hug-Suter will steer the further development of the shipping company with a clear focus on financial strength, organisation and staff.

A-ROSA shareholders and management have expressed their sincere gratitude to Markus Zoepke for his dedication, leadership, and commitment over more than two decades. He has been associated with A-ROSA for more than 24 years and has played a significant role in the development of the company into one of Europe’s leading river cruise operators. During his tenure, he contributed to numerous strategic and operational milestones, including fleet expansion, the development of new products and destinations, organisational growth, and the successful navigation of challenging market environments.
