New fleet members are on their first cruises for A-ROSA in the 2024 season
A-ROSA ALEA and CLEA launched on the Rhine
Rostock, 08 April 2024 – The two additions to the fleet, A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA, made their debut for A-ROSA last weekend. On Friday, 5 April, A-ROSA ALEA departed from Cologne for her sailing on the Southern Rhine and is calling at Basel, Strasbourg, Mainz and Koblenz during these days. On Sunday, 7 April, sister ship A-ROSA CLEA followed, visiting Willemstad, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Hoorn and Emmerich during a 7-night sailing.
In the 2024 season, the two 110-metre-long ships will be sailing popular Rhine itineraries, offering a variety of four-to-seven-night cruises from Cologne to major cities in the Netherlands and Belgium, to the historic sites along the Middle Rhine Valley and the Moselle and to the cities in the tripoint between Germany, France and Switzerland. Leading up to Christmas, the popular Christmas Market Cruises, which include stops in Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Mainz and Rüdesheim, are on the schedule. This season’s New Year’s Eve Cruise will take the two ships along the Southern Rhine to Basel, where for the first time A-ROSA guests will celebrate the turn of the year.
“With these two additions, we are responding to the steadily increasing demand for our city breaks by ship and are expanding our fleet with corresponding capacities. We are delighted that with A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA we have been able to add two ships to our programme that complement the A-ROSA fleet in a valuable way. The impressions of our first guests, who are currently on board and praise the atmosphere as well as the familiar excellent service, confirm this,” comments Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH.
On board, guests can look forward to the well-known A-ROSA service as well as Full Board Plus and can choose their own breakfast and lunch from the buffet. In the evening, in addition to a starter and dessert buffet, guests can pick from a daily changing selection of main courses, which are served directly at their table. In the Panorama Lounge in the bow of both ships, guests can also indulge in delicious creations from the A-ROSA Bar Menu while enjoying the best views of the scenery passing by.
“Thanks to their shorter length, the two ships can call at even more exclusive ports than other A-ROSA ships already do. With space for up to 140 guests, they also offer a very intimate travel experience and are ideal for couples, friend groups or solo travellers,” explains Eichler.
After the debut season in 2024, A-ROSA ALEA will move to the Seine for the 2025 season and depart from Paris to Normandy and Le Havre. A-ROSA VIVA, which is currently operating there, will then return to her original Rhine/Main/Moselle cruise region. Next year, A-ROSA CLEA will embark on diverse cruises from Frankfurt along the Main, Moselle and Middle Rhine Valley before opening up a new cruise region in Bordeaux, on the Gironde/Garonne, from 2026.
